Renu Energy Solutions powers credit union with 352-kW solar project
Renu Energy Solutions has completed a 742-panel solar installation on the roof of Truliant Federal Credit Union’s new Hanes Mall Operations Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Truliant recently converted a former three-story Macy’s store at Hanes Mall into a credit union operations center. It used 51,000 square feet of rooftop space, roughly the size of a football field, for a 352-kW bi-facial solar installation. The system is fully functional.
“Just as we work to be good stewards of our members’ finances, Truliant is committed to doing the same for our environment,” said Truliant President and CEO Todd Hall. “Rooftop solar panels are one of several sustainability initiatives at our Operations Center that help advance corporate social responsibility at the local level.”
The system will produce 485,000 kWh in its first year. The solar project is the largest rooftop solar installation in Forsyth County. Truliant will receive all power directly from the panels.

North Carolina ranks fourth nationally in installed solar capacity, according to SEIA. Solar accounted for 45% of all new electricity generation capacity added to the US grid during the third quarter of 2022, more than any other electricity source, according to SEIA.
